ADMISSION
Poma College of Education is one of the leading colleges of education in Nigeria.
The college equally has its roots closely knitted to Tertiary Institutions regulatory bodies in Nigeria and has been enjoying good and cordial relationship with these regulatory bodies.
Through the scholarship the college has equally given qualitative and standardized education to many who have lost youths thereby given them a new focus, direction and basically taken them off the street.
The college is an hub of academic best practices especially in producing qualified teachers for our country, Nigeria.
We are hereby inviting prospective students for 2018/2019 admission exercise which is currently in progress.
The admission requirements are not in anyway different from what is obtainable in an NCCE approved College of Education across the nation.
It is our policy to make the benefits and services of our educational programmes available to all students without discrimination on the basis of race, religion, colour, nationality, ancestry, sex, handicap, marital status, veteran status. Admission is provisional in the first instance and can be withdrawn at any point in time if there is any need to do so.
CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION
General Conditions for Admission into the College. All admissions into the NCE programmes offered by the Colleges of Education in the country are now done by the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB). The final admission of the candidate however rests on meeting the minimum admission requirements as laid down by NCCE. In the case of admissions into the Direct Entry and Pre-NCE offered by the College, the following procedure apply:
i. An application form is usually obtained from the Institution or at Bank and completed forms are returned to the Institution.
ii. The admission of a candidate into a programme is the prerogative of the Academic Board of the Institution which ensures that the candidates meet the minimum entry requirements for the programme as laid down by the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE).
(I) One Year Pre-NCE Full-Time.
Candidates must possess four WASC/GCE O’Level/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB Passes in four subjects relevant to the programme at not more than two sittings.
(II) NCE Three Years (Full- Time)
Candidates must posses WASC/GCE/’O’LEVEL/SSCE/NABTEB/NECO
Passes at credit level in five subjects relevant to the programme at not more than two sittings, three academic subjects relevant to the JAMB examination which is conducted annually.
Candidate must possess at least 5 credit passes in O’level, which include MATHEMATICS, ENGLISH LANGUAGES and three other related subjects in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB and recognized Arabic certificate
